Bear in a Bag Directions

I wanted to make memory bears using clothing from a deceased loved one and turned to the internet for ideas. There is a rather cute photo of these adorable little bears floating around on Pinterest, however the link only has the pattern templates. The instructions are missing in action.

My second-oldest confirmed that these bears are "the cutest" and said it was "worth it" to figure out how to make them myself.

Encouraged to persevere in my quest, I found reference to a YouTube video from a company in the UK called Sewing Quarter along with the toy designer Jo Carter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g3ELVBZR4M&t=5196s

For your own viewing pleasure, start at 1 hr mark. As far as I can tell the pattern and instructions are no longer for sale.

Because I'm apparently a crazy person, I watched this video very carefully (more than once twice), pausing to take notes, and over a few months made 15 bears. Since then I have compiled my own directions along with Jo Carter's instructions from the video.

I've been working on this for awhile and I'm excited to share. Happy sewing and wishing you many cuddles ahead!
